Who is Pas De MiSo?
Mina Sophia Giorgino

🩰 My Training Journey My artistic journey began with classical ballet and rhythmic gymnastics. From a young age, I achieved national success and became a member of the Swiss Junior National Team. After returning to dance, I pursued my professional training at renowned institutions such as the Basel Dance Academy and the IGOKAT Dance Academy. A particularly formative chapter of my training was my time at Atelier Rudra Béjart in Lausanne under the direction of Michel Gascard. There, I was immersed in the artistic tradition of Maurice Béjart and worked on his repertoire in collaboration with the Compagnie Béjart Ballet Lausanne. During this period, I deepened my knowledge of various dance styles, including Martha Graham technique with Tancredo Tavares. My training at IGOKAT was also greatly enriched by working with Kathryn Bradney, whose guidance had a lasting influence on my technical and artistic development.
🎠Stage Experience & Engagements During my training, I had the opportunity to gain valuable stage experience and perform solo roles, including at Theater Basel. As a soloist, I was part of various productions with the IGOKAT company. I had the opportunity to work with different choreographers, including Valérie Lacaze, Dietmar Seyffert and Sergio Bustinduy. I also performed as a guest dancer with Junior Jazz Dance Montreux. These diverse stage experiences allowed me to explore different artistic approaches and further develop my stage presence, expressive qualities and versatility as a dancer.
🎗️ Competitions & Awards My dance career has been marked by several awards and recognitions. These include multiple first-place awards at the ConcourStage IGOKAT, as well as achievements at international competitions in Belgium, France and Solothurn. I participated twice in the International Competition in Solothurn and was awarded on both occasions.
🤍 My Teaching Philosophy With Pas De MiSo, I aim to create a place where quality, individual support and the joy of dance come together. My classes are designed for children, teenagers and adults – from recreational dancers to ambitious dancers pursuing professional goals. Thanks to small class sizes, I am able to provide individual guidance and targeted support to each student. Alongside a strong foundation in classical ballet, my teaching focuses on musicality, expression, body awareness, flexibility and personal development. For advanced dancers, I offer dedicated preparation for auditions, entrance examinations and competitions. At the same time, it is important to me that every dance enthusiast – regardless of age or level – finds a place where they can grow, develop and experience their passion for dance.
